A Cardiology Stethoscope can be used to hear the sound that the pumping blood makes within the heart. There are four distinct sounds but only two can be heard with the stethoscope. The 3M company bought the rights to this patent in 1967, and brought Dr. Littmann on as a consultant. for the last forty years 3M has continued to refine the design of this Cardiology Stethoscope. 3M still manufacturers the complete line of Littmann stethoscopes to this day. It is a necessity for anyone in the medical field and not just for physicians. It now consist of in a wide variety of options and prices.
